The report had also mentioned that Huawei had sent out a major update to the device to enhance many aspects of its software.

Huawei has announced Nougat update plans for its smartphones. EMUI 5.0 will be rolled out to the Huawei P9, Nova and Nova Plus, and others in the first quarter of 2017.

The recently released Mate 9 is already running the Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0, while the Huawei P9 is now testing the update via a limited beta program. The company claims that EMUI 5.0 has a cleaner user interface and ensures better security of phone and its data. The updates will begin sometime in the first quarter of 2017 but they did not give a specific month so you'll have to patiently wait for it. Other devices from the list will receive Nougat update a few weeks later. Several Huawei devices will also acquire Android Nougat 7.0 with their Emotion UI 5.0, these are Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei Nova Plus, and Huawei Nova. The latest company to join the list is Huawei, one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world.

Android Central reported that Huawei will roll out beta tests before kicking off the final builds. The company at the press release also went out to state that with the new ROM from the company "users can activate 90 percent of the main functions in only two or three clicks". Moreover, thanks to "Machine Learning", EMUI 5.0 is able to dynamically optimise the most frequently processing resources to applications used, through the analysis of user behaviour over time.
