Almost than 20 children were killed and almost 40 injured on January 19 when their school bus crashed into a speeding truck early in the morning in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The crash happened on Thursday morning in Etah, around 265km (164 miles) from the state's capital, Lucknow.
The district magistrate (DM) of Etah, deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) are now at the spot.
The accident occurred due to dense fog in the area.
The victims were in the age group of 10-15 years.
According to reports, the bus was carrying almost 50 students of JS Vidya School when it collided with a truck in Aliganj area of Etah district.The truck was being driven at a high speed when the two vehicles collided head-on.
More than 146,000 people were killed in road accidents in 2015.
Most crashes are blamed on reckless driving, poorly maintained roads and ageing vehicles.

President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the accident. The school was open despite the Etah administration announcing three days of holidays due to cold conditions.
"I pray that those injured in the accident in Etah recover at the earliest", he added. The Rescue operation is underway.
