Two planes clipped wings at Sky Harbor Airport

American Airlines has announced direct flights between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Laughlin/Bullhead.

The addition of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will allow Sonoma County residents to connect with several eastbound and Mexico destinations.

A Frontier Airlines plane bound for Denver from Phoenix never took off on Thursday night because it clipped wings with another aircraft.

A Phoenix Fire spokesperson said at least one plane had a fuel leak.

Megan Whor was on the Southwest Airlines flight.

The planes involved were a departing Frontier Airlines flight and an arriving Southwest Airlines flight from Oklahoma City.

One passenger tweeted a photo of a damaged wing tip, saying she was on a Frontier Airlines flight from Phoenix to Denver. "Our aircraft is now out of service for repairs and the Customers who are traveling to Denver will be accommodated on another aircraft, arriving approximately 50 minutes late". No injuries have been reported.

Frontier said there were 163 passengers on board their Airbus A320 and six crew members. There were 174 passengers on the plane.

Passengers on both planes were put on different flights after the aircrafts were put out of service for repairs.
