A Houston woman says her 8-year-old daughter was shot to death following a traffic accident that resulted in gunfire.
Houston police said around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, they were called about an accident at the intersection of the Sam Houston Parkway feeder and Fuqua Street.
Officials said a white vehicle was driving at a high speed, possibly being chased by a black auto when the accident happened.
According to police, the drivers of the Pontiac and the sedan then got out of their vehicles and began firing.
We're told the white auto slammed into a third vehicle and inside was the child and her mother. The female passenger was taken to the hospital in serious condition. One of the stray bullets hit an eight-year-old girl was inside of the black Honda Accord.
The mother was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Her injuries are unknown at this time.
The drivers of the white auto and the other vehicle fled the scene.
