I Gave Wonderboy a Concussion Last Time

Now, Thompson gets his shot at revenge. According to Woodley, St-Pierre isn't going to campaign for a fight with him, since he believes the Canadian doesn't want to face a hard-hitting fighter with good takedown defense. Woodley to prove he is the undisputed champion and Thompson to show he deserves to wear the belt.

"These kids are watching every move I make", Thompson said.

Woodley said it was amusing that Thompson is considered the better striker since he outstruck him back in November in what ended up being a majority draw. "He got a pass from me", the second-ranked Ferguson said. Jones has the best argument, but there are a number of fighters with far stronger arguments than Woodley, including Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and Fedor Emelianenko.

Fortunately for fight fans, neither fighter wants to see this rematch go to the judges again. However, in their fight at UFC 205, Woodley seemed to derail Thompson's usual game plan.

The native of Dagestan has built one of MMA's longest undefeated streaks on the strengths of his dominant grappling skills and has also finished his past two fights inside the distance including a third-round submission of Michael Johnson as -335 chalk at UFC 205.

He pledged to forget St. Pierre for the time being when he signed the UFC 209 contract and has now been annoyed whenever anyone broaches the topic. "He hasn't seen the entire arsenal, and so I think that gives me an advantage going into this next fight". Though many consider his style to be unorthodox for MMA, they have served him well and are risky weapons in his arsenal.

This one could go either way, but I slightly favor Woodley, with his wrestling being the biggest key to his success.

What a great fight this is between two lightweight's who've both worked wonders to produce such long unbeaten runs in this highly competitive division.

"Your math is off", Woodley snapped back.

Woodley laughed but said Thompson is the one who is always talking.

"Why you gotta be so mean, man?" Fighting someone like [St-Pierre] is a legacy fight and that's a fight that you can't say no to.

If truth be told, it's unlikely Woodley can string together enough wins to put himself in a position to even be in the GOAT conversation.
