Once the baby is born, it will weigh around 150 pounds and be approximately 6 feet tall at birth.

The wait for April the Giraffe to have her baby in NY has everyone, including Jones, very excited. Weirdly entertaining? Definitely. The video of the expectant mom pacing around her "pen" (a.k.a. bedroom) has already racked up over 15 million views.

April is doing "very well" and the labor process is going "just fine", the zoo said when it first started streaming her pregnancy and assumed labor. Just previous year, the Greenville Zoo in SC shared a live stream as Autumn the giraffe gave birth to her calf, Tatu. Giraffe mothers' milk contains about 6 percent protein and 13 to 17 percent fat, which enables the calves to grow quickly, according to a study published in June 2004 in the Journal of Mammalogy.

Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville began streaming February 23.

During an afternoon examination on March 5, April was "reportedly on edge", though her appetite was "notably good", her caregivers reported in a Facebook post.

The world has been watching the pregnant giraffe via a live web camera for almost two weeks now.

April the Giraffe is still pregnant, but many people believe they saw a sign that her new baby's arrival is imminent.

"Typically we're hands off, and let nature take its course and let them do their own thing".

There is a significant amount of belly movement and tail raising. In the meantime, viewers can keep tuning in to YouTube to see how the very pregnant April is faring.
