Two people were arrested Saturday morning in Huntington in connection with a missing person case originating in Florida.
The pair allegedly stole a vehicle belonging to missing Florida woman Tricia Ann Freeman, 47. Freeman's daughter, Kayla Colyer, 21, and her boyfriend, Roy Nichols, Jr., 26, were arrested Saturday in West Virginia, just across the river from Ashland, in connection to the theft of Freeman's auto.
The Levy County Sheriff's Office had been assisting the Palmetto Police Department since Saturday to find Tricia Freeman's remains, according to Palmetto Chief Scott Tyler.
The vehicle was located abandoned Thursday in Ashland by APD, and the department has been working with the Florida police department since then to locate Nichols and Colyer.
Nichols will face a murder charge. Nichols is being charged with murder and Colyer as an accessory to the crime.
Police believe the killing stemmed from an argument. That's the day police say the boyfriend of Freeman's daughter, Roy Nichols Jr., went to Freeman's house by himself and she said something to "set him off", Tyler said. Detectives have since been searching that area, which wasn't disclosed.
