Empire State Building lights up with Harper's Bazaar covers

This was all thanks to Kendall Jenner, whose surprise appearance at the party, held at 65 floors high above Manhattan at The Rainbow Room, marked her first public outing after widespread backlash against the soda brand's controversial television advertisement starring the 21-year-old supermodel.

Kendall Jenner is in an Empire State of mind at the Harper's Bazaar 150th anniversary celebration.

Covers from the magazine's 150-year history were displayed against the skyscraper.

Check out Kendall flipping the switch! "Empire State Building ft.me", Jenner wrote on her Instagram snapshot of the spectacle.

Editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar, Glenda Bailey, who also helped to turn on the incredible light show, said ahead of the spectacular display: "What I really want is to allow New Yorkers to enjoy the greatest fashion show in the world".

A photo of Bundchen, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier for the February 2002 cover of Harper's Bazaar, was cast onto the Empire State Building after dark. Plus, Kendall's mom Kris Jenner doesn't seem happy with ex Caitlyn Jenner's memoir in a new "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" preview. "I mean, I'm a girl and I like being a girl, but I've just never been into it like they have. I'd say I'm more of a Jenner than a Kardashian".
