Gunners both Wenger expects the forward to remain in North London and see out the remain year he has left on his deal at the Emirates ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, as per the Sun.
Goal understands that Manchester City remains the favoured destination of Alexis this summer as he enters into the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract, but the Gunners are maintaining the stance that their star man is not for sale and will not be allowed to leave this summer. "There is not a lot to resolve with the player".
The Gunners boss says he has recently been in contact with Sanchez, who has not yet returned to pre-season training due to his global commitments this summer, and he believes he will remain at the club.
"Players like Alexis Sanchez played the whole season, finished the season really exhausted and went off to play in the Confederations Cup", Wenger added.
He revealed: "I have spoken through text and it was very positive".
Arsenal's preference has been for Sanchez to move overseas rather than to a Premier League rival, but Wenger has been publicly bullish over the player, suggesting that if he does quit the club it will have to be at the end of his contract.
One player whose future is less clear is Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
"But once he is ready, when he comes back, he will not be far from with the team".
However, Wenger seemed to squash those rumours, saying: "I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes".
