"I can't believe that I met the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau".
Two-month-old Justin-Trudeau Adam Bilal met his namesake at a Calgary Stampede breakfast on Saturday. In fact, it appears he may have slept right through it.
Canada is now home to over 40,000 Syrian refugees, coinciding with the time of Trump's much-talked-about refugee ban.
In the photos, the 45-year-old Canadian leader was seen looking on smiling as the baby - the son of Syrian refugees Afraa Hajj Hammoud and Mohammed Belal - slept soundly in his arms.
The family chose to name their newborn after the prime minister as a thank you gesture to their adopted country.
"But now it's by appreciation for Justin Trudeau, we name him like this", she said. "He helped us a lot".
Syrian refugees Afraa Hajj Hammoud and Mohammed Belal made a decision to give their newborn a name that would reflect their gratitude to Canada for allowing them to settle and start a new life.
The couple arrived in Montreal in February of previous year in the midst of Canada's bitterly cold winter accompanied by their daughter Naya, who is 4, and their son Nael who is 3.
In an interview with CBC News, Ms Hammoud said of Mr Trudeau: "I love him, because he knows what humanity means".
Justin-Trudeau Adam Bilal's mother had earlier said that they were grateful to the prime minister for bringing so many Syrian refugees to Canada.
