Quincy Enunwa to miss entire season

Jets receiver Quincy Enunwa is done for the season due to a neck injury.

The Jets haven't played a preseason game yet, but they're about to lose one of their most valuable weapons indefinitely.

Prior to this news, Enunwa was projected as our 32nd-best wide receiver for fantasy in 2017. Coach Todd Bowles was uncertain as to the severity of the injury but said he was told it is the same one Enunwa had in offseason workouts.

Injuries helped give Enunwa a big-time opportunity previous year, and it's possible that Enunwa going down could provide similar chances for other players to step up this time around.

With Enunwa out, Robby Anderson (42 receptions for 587 yards and two touchdowns last year) now becomes the proverbial top target for Josh McCown, Christian Hackenberg or whoever winds up under center for the Jets this year.

Enunwa, who was entering his fourth National Football League season, led the Jets in receiving during the 2016 season. As could be expected with that type of injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Enunwa has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the entire coming season. "We'll see what the results are first and we'll go from there".
