Tiger Woods denies news report about relationship status

But his legal counsel just informed the Associated Press that he will not be attending the arraignment slated on Wednesday wherein important arrangements will be discussed and settled.

The Daily Mail ran an article on Thursday titled "EXCLUSIVE: Tiger Woods is seen for the first time with his stylist GIRLFRIEND".

While neither Kristin nor Tiger have talked much about their relationship, it now appears as if things had ended between the two with little fanfare, as Woods confirmed in a tweet on Thursday.

He said this wasn't the case, clarifying that Smith is not his girlfriend and has not been in some time. Upon completion of that program, the DUI charge will be dropped from Woods' record. Originally, Woods' hearing was scheduled last July 5 but was moved to August 9.

Since they can not plead guilty if they will not attend the hearing, Woods' absence means that he is planning to declare a not guilty plea.

The plea deal reached between prosecutors and Woods' attorneys on Wednesday will have the golfer enter a diversion program beginning October 25.

Such plea deals are offered to many first-time DUI offenders in Palm Beach County.

A Florida prosecutor says Tiger Woods has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence and will enter a diversion programme later this year.
