The actor, who plays former stormtrooper Finn in the sequel trilogy, said questions had dogged him ever since the rumors first began circulating in April 2016, when William and Harry visited the "Jedi" set (pictured).
The princes visited the Pinewood set in April past year, where they met the cast and crew.
During the radio interview, Boyega also confirmed another big celebrity cameo from actor #TomHardy. I've had enough with those Prince William secrets man, because I swear - there was images or whatever online. According to comedian John Boyega, who plays one of the main characters in the film, The visit of the two representatives of the crown actually was much more than that.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4, Boyega joked: "I think they took that scene out".
A source said at the time: "The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set". I hope they will. I think it was leaked, anyway. Hardy and the two United Kingdom princes won't be the first A-listers who make cameos in a "Star Wars" film though, since Daniel Craig had a secret cameo and delivered a brief line as a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". I'm exhausted of dodging it. The royal brothers were fascinated as they explored the backstage area, and showed off their sibling rivalry with a playful lightsaber duel.
"The princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base".
'The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro's character when a group of Stormtroopers enter - two of whom are William and Harry'.
The precedent was arguably set for this when "James Bond" actor Daniel Craig donned the stormtrooper armor in 2015's "The Force Awakens".
