Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants' superstar receiver, left an exhibition game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday with an injury that the Giants described as an ankle sprain. Briean Boddy-Calhoun dove in to make the tackle and hit Beckham Jr.in the back of the right leg. He limped off the field and collapsed to the ground while walking to the locker room. But once he got back near the locker room (he was by himself, and it's odd why the Giants training staff wasn't attending to him after the risky hit) ESPN showed him on both knees on the ground in pain.
Beckham's night is obviously done, and it remains to see if he'll play again in the preseason.
Multiple reporters at the game said Giants safety Landon Collins had heated words with Boddy-Calhoun for the low hit.
Beckham, who signed an endorsement deal with Nike this offseason, is set to make $1.8 million this upcoming season, the fourth year under his rookie contract.
Beckham took a low hit from a Browns defender which forced him to leave the game. Beckham's injury looked nothing to do with his ankle, but that's what the team is going with for now.
