Arsenal contract rebel 'unlikely' to sign new contract amid Chelsea & Liverpool interest

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis are set to be present at the meeting this week, as the Gunners finally look to move on sorting out some of the unrest and uncertainty at the club following Wenger's own agreement to a contract extension earlier this summer.

Antonio Conte has already seen a £25million offer rejected by Arsenal but remain interested in the 24-year-old.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain holding off signing new contract at Arsenal to give Chelsea and Liverpool hope of signing him.

However, according to the report, Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to seek more opportunities in his preferred central midfield role having deployed in a wing-back position to begin the season.

That is the opinion of former Gunners and England defender Nigel Winterburn, who says Oxlade-Chamberlain has made "massive strides" since last season and is an important player for Wenger.

"I want him to stay here for a long time", Wenger said last week. In the previous year, he has made huge progress and I want him to stay here for a long time.

"I'm convinced that he will be in the next two or three years the English player everyone looks at".

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains unlikely to sign a new contract at Arsenal ahead of further talks this week about his future.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with summer moves to Premier League rivals Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
