WOW Air, a budget carrier based out of Iceland, is launching service from St. Louis, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit, bringing its total USA destinations to 12-and making worldwide travel from the area a lot cheaper. "The Cleveland market has responded favorably to low cost airlines like WOW air and we expect the response to them to be no different".
The inaugural flight from Cincinnati to Iceland will commence May 10, 2018. "We are proud to partner with Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to provide the lowest fares possible over the Atlantic to Greater Cincinnati area travelers".
"At WOW air, we are committed to our mission of offering our Irish passengers more affordable travel options to North America at the lowest fares", said Skúli Mogensen, the airline's CEO and founder.
"We're excited to partner with WOW air to give the St. Louis region transatlantic service to Iceland, one of the hottest global tourist destinations in the world right now", said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, STL Airport Director in a statement.
Tickets go on sale today and can be purchased on the airline's website.
"Connecting the Tri-State community with additional nonstop global destinations has been a priority for CVG", said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer of CVG, in a news release. A carry-on bag will cost you $40 each way, while a checked bag will cost $60 each way, so those fees can bring your total cost closer to $500-still low for visiting Europe in the spring, but not quite $99 low. CVG will be its 12 destination in the U.S.
CVG carriers continue to add flights due to demand.
Other cities with new service are Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit.
