Liverpool fans react to Coutinho display against Burnley

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp gave Philippe Coutinho his first start this season amid seven changes from their Champions League team, but familiar defensive failings surfaced after 26 minutes.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits their defending wasn't good enough for their 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Liverpool like to continue the record as they had never lost their last three Premier League home games to Burnely. Why we feel so disappointed or frustrated is because we see what this team can do. They made seven changes, players who have been brought in for absolute fortunes, players on the bench who have come in for £35m. Klopp's tactics aren't short on entertainment, but it's starting to look like they'll be a fundamental shift required if we're ever going to solve our problems at the back. I think back to when Danny (Ings) was here, we were the only two strikers at the club.

Meanwhile, Burnley manager Sean Dyche has made two alterations to his side, with Nick Pope replacing the injured Tom Heaton in goal, while Scott Arfield comes in for Sam Vokes.

"It feels odd, it feels wrong but it is a fact we drew", said Klopp. I thought we done that well today.

"We created moments. You can not create in each situation a finishing situation, but we did it absolutely often enough".

The Clarets have had a league-high 30% of their shots this season from corner situations, but they have also allowed their opponents the highest proportion of their shots from corners (31%).

"I was lucky to manage Barcelona with many outstanding performances but this week has been a lot of goals. This is where we have to improve".

"A little block here, we miss Arfield, or forget him, and he can score", said Klopp.

Coutinho was replaced by Solanke after a sub-par performance, with U/20 World Cup player of the tournament nearly turning one point into three, but he contrived to hit the woodwork with the goal gaping as the match finished 1-1.

"But it is 1-1, I'm not happy about it because of the performance".

Burnley are one goal better off than Liverpool in seventh place in the table after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and enjoying draws with Tottenham and Liverpool.

"Now we are an established Premier League side with many options and good quality options". It's not going to happen.

"It's nearly subliminal at times".

"My job is to allow this team the best opportunity to be successful".
