There will be rough surf and rip currents.

"Travel is very hazardous right now", the post said.

Hurricane Jose was upgraded from a tropical storm to a Category 1 hurricane on Friday, and eastern Long Island and southeastern New England will get the worst of the storm, if it makes landfall, Accuweather reported.

The greatest impacts from Hurricane Jose will be felt on Long Island, but the offshore storm has still prompted the National Weather Service to issue several advisories in parts of New York City and New Jersey, warning of risky surf and high winds Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm is not expected to make a direct impact on LI, but is forecast to deliver a passing blow.

Tropical storm watch Suffolk County on Long Island, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London Counties in CT.

According to meteorologists, Jose will likely bring tropical storm force winds, coastal flooding and heavy rainfall.

While barely a breeze will develop across western North Carolina, winds over the Coastal Plain may increase to 10 to 15mph this afternoon with slightly stronger and more gusty winds expected at most beaches.

Cuomo has sent state personnel, including members of the National Guard, to LI to help deal with the storm. The public is urged to stay off the roads unless necessary and secure loose objects that may become projectiles in the wind.

Hurricane Jose is bringing some interesting weather to Delmarva.
