This is the 18:9, quad-camera Huawei Mate 10 Lite

Ahead of Huawei's October 16 event, where the company is expected to announce two alleged handsets dubbed Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, some new details about both smartphones have surfaced online. Interestingly, rumors say that there will also be a fourth variant of the smartphone but nothing has been leaked so far.

Although it will indeed be the least expensive of the group, Mate 10 Lite - codenamed Rhone - is no budget phone. For being the cheapest device in the lineup, the Lite brings a surprising amount of interesting hardware, including an 18:9 "FullView" display (Huawei's first) and a quad camera setup. Apparently, the setups pair a 16 megapixel and 13 megapixel primary sensor with a secondary 2 megapixel sensor on the rear and front respectively. The Mate 10 Lite is expected to be the same Huawei G10 (or Huawei Maimang 6) that will go official in China on September 22.

As for the Mate 10 Lite, the leaked render revealed by VentureBeat suggests that this version will have dual camera set ups both in the front and back display.

Looking at the TENAA Listing of the Huawei G10, we might see an expandable MicroSD slot on the Mate 10 Lite as well. In the home, the button is not present on display on the Mate 10 pro phone.

As for internal specs, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite is on the higher-end of the spectrum, while still not being on the top-tier.

Power will come from an octa-core 2.36GHz Kirin 659 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage - not earth-shattering by any means, but plenty powerful. It's highly possible that this Huawei Mate 10 Lite and its more powerful siblings, the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro, will already run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and topped by EMUI 5.1. It also includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite will be equipped with four cameras, two on the back and another two up front. It gets its juice from the 3,340mAh non-removable battery that might also support fast charging.

The phone will be launched on October 16 and will come with a price tag of around $450 Dollars. It will be priced at €379 ($455) and comes in Blue, Black, and Gold color options.
