Liverpool's Marko Grujic seeks better weekend result at Leicester after cup exit

J├╝rgen Klopp insists Liverpool's approach to the Carabao Cup will be no different to that of previous years as they prepare to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. We don't score often enough but that is a minor problem. It sounds like we have nil points and are the worst team in the league.

"Yes we have problems, that is why we "only" have eight points and not 15. But that we concede like this, that makes me really sick", Klopp said. "We have the right characters, sometimes we react really well and sometimes not perfectly, that's how it always is".

"We can not change this".

JURGEN KLOPP has defended Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after his shocker of a Liverpool debut. It's quite quick (criticism). I can imagine [the criticism], that is football.

"He had a little problem with a calf - it's not an injury, but a problem - and we all need to get used to this and manage it a little better. I lost more games in my life unfortunately and, believe me or not, tomorrow morning I am fine", he said.

Dejan Lovren, who has missed three of his side's last four games, has not trained this week and could sit out at the King Power Stadium with a back problem suffered on worldwide duty with Croatia.

However, Klopp was quick to defend his player at his press conference for yet another games against Leicester this weekend.

Goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have taken turns to start in goal this term, as have Lovren and Klavan in the heart of defence as Joel Matip's partner.

The German declared that "as long as" the club can "line up [with] strong line-ups" they will, insisting: "It's a little bit odd that we play Leicester again at the weekend".

"We played really good football in the first half, we should have decided the game early". Each manager in football has another hole to fill. We have to see what we can do.

"But as long as we concede goals like we conceded today, then it is quite hard".

"Or hope like Burnley that they only have to go for set-pieces and you get whatever you want and you can concede 35 shots on target or whatever and it's clear you will be lucky?"

"It's not that it's worse or better than other situations".

"Pep Guardiola (of Man City) is more of a purist and sometimes in the Premier League that might bite you, so United might just edge it". The defenders know Klopp was trying to replace them.
