This smartphone comes in Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold and Aurora Blue color variants, while it is priced at 2,399 Yuan ($364) in China. While there'll be a 16MP camera in the back and 12MP in the front, each will be paired up with a smaller 2MP camera instead of equally-sized sensors. The front is dominated by a 6-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved display which adds spice to the otherwise subtle design language of the phone.
The Huawei Maimang 6 is not exactly bezel-less, well, not a single phone is, but this handset comes with really thin bezels all around. Huawei's Kirin 659 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this smartphone, while the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU comes bundled in here, and is in charge of graphics processing. Sadly, the company has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the new smartphone for other markets. It features a 3,340mAh battery and includes a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below the display. We don't usually report on devices that are exclusively available in China, but the Maimang 6 is expected to be introduced in the rest of the world as Huawei Mate 10 Lite or G10.
In any case, let's now look at what Huawei Maiming 6 has to offer.
Technically, the bizarrely named Maimang 6 (how did we not notice the first five?) isn't part of the Mate family (duh), but all signs point to it going global next month under the Mate 10 Lite moniker. It goes on pre-order starting today and it will start shipping from September 30th. The smartphone has a 64GB internal memory and has an expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD.
Above the vertically placed cameras on the back, we see a single-LED flash. On the front, the device packs a 13 MP + 2 MP front-facing camera with fixed focus and 1080p video recording capability. Android 7.0 Nougat comes out of the box here, and on top of it, you'll find Huawei's proprietary skin, Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1. The device also offers dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots. As for the dimensions, the handset measures 156.2 × 75.2 × 7.5mm and weighs around 164 grams.
