Gokhan Saki Scores Spectacular First-Round KO In Highly-Anticipated UFC Debut

The former kickboxing superstar finally made his debut inside the Octagon on Friday night and he finished Henrique da Silva with a highlight reel left hook that brought the crowd in Japan to its feet.

If you don't follow kickboxing, then you might not know that Saki is one of the most accomplished and feared kickboxers on the planet.

As time ticked away, Saki started to slow down as his hands began to drop and his legs weren't moving quite as quickly and da Silva was quick to take advantage.

Saki, who managed to land 38 of the 60 strikes he threw in his bout with da Silva, hadn't fought in more than two years.

With Saki in trouble against the fence, Da Silva released the clinch and allowed "The Turkish Tyson" a little space.

Searching for the kill in order to halt his three-fight losing streak, Silva began swinging bombs - but Saki countered with a monster left hook of his own, sending Silva to sleep nearly instantly. Amidst an onslaught of Da Silva punches and kicks, a wobbly, tired, but calm Saki found an opening for a huge left hook that flattened his foe.

"Anyone who thinks that's a bad stoppage PLEASE don't ever apply to be refs", White wrote on Instagram.

Welcome to the UFC, Gokhan Saki. He even broke his arm in a K-1 World Grand Prix match with current UFC heavyweight star Alistair Overeem in 2010 - Overeem just happened to be cageside to witness Saki's UFC debut.
