Conte praises Blues after win

Antonio Conte was delighted with the performance of Alvaro Morata as the Spaniard's hat-trick helped Chelsea to a dominant 4-0 win at Stoke City.

Morata opened the scoring in the second minute at the bet365 Stadium and netted twice in quick succession after the interval to take his tally this season to six goals in his first six Premier League matches, as Chelsea delivered an emphatic reminder of the defensive strength and ruthless finishing that made them champions in 2016-17.

"It wasn't easy despite the 4-0 result".

"He's a really good guy ..." The 28-year-old won more points than any other player with his goals during last season's title triumph. I think Alvaro played very well. It means if you have a daughter you'd be open to have this type of person with your daughter, to marry your daughter!

"Morata played a good game".

"I am pleased for Alvaro's performance, pleased for the performance of the team".

"For sure, I think that Atletico Madrid fans don't love him because of the rivalry between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid". It is a very important game for us.

The hat-trick was the first by a Chelsea player in the Premier League since Costa's in September 2014, but the second in a week for the Blues after Michy Batshuayi's treble in England's domestic EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest last Wednesday.

Since Eden Hazard started midweek against Nottingham Forest, it would be safe to assume that he's back to full fitness. "A really good guy, a polite person", Conte added as he signed off. "For sure, he is in contention for the game against Atletico Madrid". I think that he is showing that he is nearly ready to play [in these types of games]. You must know that when you are in a great team, there are many players, you must be ready to play, to start. I don't see any problem [with Hazard on the bench]. We are managing his recovery very well. "We want to fight in every competition we are playing".
