A gunman has opened fire at a busy marketplace in Sweden, injuring several people, British media reports.
"We have received several reports of a shooting in Trelleborg", the officer said. The police initially said that the four victims suffered gunshot wounds, but have later clarified their statement.
It is not yet known if there have been any fatalities in the incident.
"When we get there we found several people who were injured in a few different places". "We saw someone running outside", an eyewitness told the Swedish publication Expressen.
Trelleborg is a Swedish port town located 20 miles south of Malmo and 40 miles southeast of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Witnesses reportedly said they heard a "loud bang" in the area.
Local police are urging residents to stay away from the area. It's packed with police cars in the street'.
"There are four people who have been hospitalised in Malmö and Lund".
