Demi Lovato Talks Candidly About Cocaine Use & Faking Drug Tests

The 25-year-old pop star went to rehab back in 2010 to seek treatment for a dependence on alcohol and drugs, and get therapy for an eating disorder and self-harming.

. Lovato appears to be in a better place now, but admits she still struggles with her eating disorders. She reveals that she started drinking from an early age, and used cocaine for the first time at 17 with a couple friends, while she was still working on the Disney Channel. After turning over her cell phone, the singer began her current attempt at sobriety.

The former Disney star reposted the image on her Instagram story with the caption: 'Recovery is possible'. She even admits to faking drug tests by submitting other people's urine.

"I am open to human connection, so whether that's through a male or female, it doesn't matter to me", she said.

"I was sneaking cocaine into planes".

"I remember we were in NY and she was clearly on something, while promoting this "new way of life" on air".

In an interview with discussing the YouTube series, she said: "I think what was hard about the process was being honest about where I am in my life today". "It became really good between she and I for a while, growing closer than we've ever been". The singer embarrassingly recalls performing on American Idol, hung-over.

At the outset of the documentary Demi tells us, "I've learned that secrets make you sick".

She celebrated her five-year anniversary of being sober this past spring. You always continue to [be] bold and real.
