SC sends Florida to fifth straight defeat

The ball rolled into the end zone, where SC running back A.J. Turner was waiting. Quarterback Jake Bentley threw a rather awful pass out of the end zone to be intercepted by a wide open CJ Henderson. Denson rushed 13 times for 61 yards for the Gamecocks, who have won four of their last five games.

Things continue to go poorly for Florida, and not just because of the midseason departure of coach Jim McElwain.

As if things couldn't get worse for Florida's offense during a 28-20 loss Saturday against SC, the Gators lost quarterback Malik Zaire to an injury.

First-quarter touchdown runs by Bentley of 4 yards and Denson of 24 yards set the tone as the Gamecocks took a 14-0 lead. His second quarter touchdown put USC up by a 21-6 score.

The victory secures a winning SEC record for USC (7-3, 5-3) for the first time since 2013 and it's just the fourth time they've defeated the Gators and Tennessee in the same season.
