Alwar lynching again: Muslim man killed over transporting cattle, 2 other injured

"The body has been referred to a hospital in Jaipur for post-mortem examination". The minor is considered to be the mastermind behind the attack.

"The attackers were basically anti-social elements who attacked Umar and two other passengers of the pickup as they were smuggling cows".

But, an FIR has already been registered against victims on Friday itself under the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, against the alleged cow smugglers and the vehicle sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

The CPI-M on Monday condemned the killing of a farmer who had bought cows in Alwar in Rajasthan and urged the Modi government to ban "all gangs indulging in cow vigilantism and moral policing".

A Muslim man died and another was injured after a group of men shot at them and beat them up while they were transporting cattle in India's Rajasthan state, Muslim community leaders said Sunday. "They later asked somebody else to dump Khan's body on the railway track".

This is the same region where 55-year-old Pehlu Khan was thrashed to death by cow vigilantes in April this year, resulting into a nationwide outrage. The report also alleged that there has been "medical manipulation" in the case.

Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said that action would be taken against the accused, whether he is Hindu or Muslim, NDTV reported.

Another person, Tahir, who was with Ummar Khan at the time the ghastly incident took place, sustained bullet injuries. It wasn't clear how he was wounded. "I managed to run away but they caught the other two", Ilyas Khan quoted Jabba as saying.

Ilyas Khan said Umar was transporting three milch cows and an equal number of calves.

Anil Beniwal, assistant SP, Alwar (south), told Hindustan Times the whole incident was being wrongly presented by combining two different incidents: "We have found one body in Ramgarh on Railway tracks while police has found five cows and one dead cow in a pickup near Govindgarh".
