JJ Abrams Adapts Jimmy Kimmel's Childhood Comic Book

Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Ty Burrell, Billy Crudup, Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm, and Shaquille O'Neal starred as the superheroes. Affleck reflected on the great chemistry the Justice League stars had with each other on set and how uncomfortable his Batman costume is before revealing why he made a decision to put the suit on in the first place.

On Monday's episode of his ABC late-night show, Kimmel celebrated turning 50 with bells, whistles and Ben Affleck.

"Literally, the reason I took this movie is imagining wearing that costume and I've got a little boy and having my son see me", Affleck says.

And of course, Damon plays the villain Dr. Bolt and doesn't hold back in his "feud" with Kimmel. Kimmel quickly remembered all the characters' names, which include Muscle Man, Color Kid, Lucky Lad and Super Duck (an unashamed rip-off of Marvel's Howard the Duck). Sykes played The Bleach Master - essentially her floating head inside a box of bleach.

"Interesting thing about [Justice League], this movie shifted schedule, some actor availability dropped [.] and Star Wars pushed, I don't know if you know this, but created some additional availability. Because we were created by a weird, sad kid, who later grew to be a weird, fat man".

But the blushing, guffawing Kimmel definitely seemed to appreciate it. Abrams showed the pages of the original comic book - published by Kimmel Komix - on the air as Kimmel recalled his inspiration for his early creation.

Alas, this wasn't a real movie trailer.

After Abrams and Affleck debuted their project, Kimmel called it "the best gift I ever got".
