Byron Maxwell signing with Seattle Seahawks, per reports

The Seattle Seahawks placed Prosise on the injured reserve list after he injured his left ankle Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Former South Carolina standout Mike Davis has promoted from practice squad to the 53-man roster for the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Tuesday.

Sherman suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Thursday against Arizona.

The Legion of Boom is getting back a familiar face.

Maxwell, who was released by the Miami Dolphins in October, will join the Seattle Seahawks once again.

Expect rookie Shaq Griffin or the recently-signed Byron Maxwell to draw the unenviable assignment of covering Jones in Sherman's place. The 29-year-old cornerback signed a one-year deal with Seattle on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. In his absence, the Seahawks went with Jeremy Lane for the rest of the game.

Maxwell signed with Philadelphia in free agency after the 2014 season but lasted just one year with the Eagles and was traded to Miami before the 2015 season.

Davis was a fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2015 out of SC. He was then claimed by Seattle and emerged as the team's leading rusher in the preseason with 106 yards on 24 carries with a long of 38 while also catching five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.
