The Get Down star cast in Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu

The upcoming Detective Pikachu movie has received its lead actor.

Netflix passed on a second season of "The Get Down", but you can still catch Smith in the 2015 adaptation of John Green's "Paper Towns". So far, Legendary hasn't expanded upon what role he'll play, but judging from Justice's Twitter account, he seems quite thrilled to be part of the project. It will be helmed by Goosebumps director Rob Letterman, with a script from Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman and Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch.

For those unaware, Smith is now starring in the Netflix musical series The Get Down and was recently added to the cast of Jurassic World: Lost Kingdom.
