Dead & Company show canceled at Amway because of John Mayer's appendix

The situation has made it necessary for the Dead and Company to postpone two more shows - set for December 7 in Orlando and December 8 in Sunrise, Florida.

Dead and Company issued a statement concerning the health of their frontman John Mayer.

John Mayer has sent a heartfelt thank you to fans for the outpouring of love and support after the guitarist was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy earlier this week.

John Mayer is reportedly recovering from the emergency appendectomy and according to Dead & Company's social media update "is in good spirits".

Ticketholders can rest assured: tickets for these shows will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Information on the rescheduled concerts will be announced as soon as possible.

The Grammy victor was scheduled to perform with Dead & Company on December 5, 7 and 8, but those shows are being postponed. The band, which consists of former Grateful Dead members and new members including Mayer, was set to wrap up its fall tour on Friday in Florida. In 2016, the group played a summer tour and also hit the road this past summer.
