A auto jumped a curb and struck multiple pedestrians in a busy section of Lower Manhattan Thursday afternoon, police said.
It wasn't clear what caused the driver to jump the curb.
It happened about 1:15 in the area of Liberty St. and Broadway.
At least three pedestrians were injured, according to the New York City Patch.
Police said the area is safe but to avoid it because of the ongoing collision investigation and traffic congestion.
A witness, Hector Freytes of Queens, says people scattered as the auto sped along Liberty.
Fire and police officials say none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
The SUV then struck a person on a bike. Authorities were working to determine whether the crash was intentional.
