Campo Santo, the developer behind the indie hit Firewatch, has announced its next game, which is also a first-person adventure.
The game's first trailer, revealed tonight at The Game Awards, comes with a 2019 release date attached. And, definitely, expect more news out of 2017's The Game Awards.
It's a single-player adventure game about seeking treasure in an ancient valley. The protagonist is an explorer and filmmaker who travels to the desert, alongside an old partner, to seek out "a seemingly-impossible discovery and an incredible film". Just like with Firewatch, follow our progress here on the blog and our Twitter account for the latest news and behind-the-scenes development. It's some sort of an adventure game called In the Valley of Gods.
Firewatch launched last year on PC, so In the Valley of Gods' release window of two years in the future should be no surprise.
In the Valley of Gods is a sprawling narrative experience in remote, 1920's Egypt. We learned what's next for Campo Santo, the Firewatch developer.
