Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding Gets Disturbing New Trailer at The Game Awards

Hideo Kojima continues his reputation for mystery and sheer WTF-ery with a brand-new trailer for Death Stranding debuted during The Game Awards.

We now know that Norman Reedus' character is named Sam and that his character will witness a horrific near future sci-fi disaster. While we were hoping for some answers, audiences were only left with more questions. After what appears to be a wreck of some sort, crushing one character underneath it, the trailer shows an invisible monster before a carcass completely evaporates, ostensibly because of the beast. Reedus awakens, fully clothed, in a desolate, rainy land accompanied by other men in Bridges gear. The new trailer is over seven minutes of footage from totally new pieces of the game, and we get some idea of just what the hell might be going on here. "Then came the next explosion, an explosion that will be our last".

If you were hoping for some more Death Stranding content before the end of this year, you're in luck. What this means for Death Stranding is unknown, but it could be theorized that Norman Reedus' character has the ability to either utilize black holes as a form of travel or simply needs the formulas written down for whatever he's on a quest to do. After the trailer premiered, Reedus and Kojima shared a sweet moment on stage where even he seemed a bit confused by Kojima's trailer.
