Tampa man mistakes bank drive-thru for Taco Bell; arrested for DUI

Douglas Francisco, 28, had reportedly fallen unconscious after entering the drive-thru lane at the Bank of America in Spring Hill on Wednesday afternoon. This was at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The manager said they started banging on the Hyundai's window "for some time", according a deputy's report, before Francisco finally woke up.

Francisco was told he was not at a restaurant, left the drive-thru and drove into the parking lot, according to a Sheriff's Office report. Once he awoke, the befuddled motorist asked the bank manager for a burrito. When deputies arrived at the bank, they found the blue vehicle idling in the parking lots, the groggy driver still inside. The auto was still running. Back in October 2011, Off The Beat reported that Matthew Falkner was found passed out in the drive-thru lane of a Taco Bell in Jensen Beach.

- A Florida man was arrested for driving under the influence after pulling up to a drive-thru window at a bank and trying to order a burrito.

Francisco was arrested after field sobriety tests "yielded strong evidence of impairment".

Deputies noticed that Francisco had a delayed reaction when answering questions as well as slow movements of his extremities, which is consistent with someone under the influence of prescription narcotics. The arrest report states that he had Oxycodone and Xanax on him, both of which he was prescribed.

He was booked at the county jail and held on $1,000 bond, according to WFTS.
