Border Patrol agents in Laredo discovered 76 people suspected of attempting to enter the country illegally in the back of a tractor trailer on Friday. The semitrailer stopped in the checkpoint's primary lane where the driver, a USA citizen, was questioned about his immigration status. Shortly after arresting two illegal aliens Thursday, agents followed two suspicious vehicles and conducted an immigration inspection.

Two men who were in the United States under the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program have been arrested on suspicion of human smuggling, federal officials said on Monday.

'Both the driver and his cousin admitted their involvement with human smuggling in the area, ' according to Customs and Border Protection.

The 22-year-old driver of the vehicle admitted to performing scouting duties for a smuggling crew.

Olmos, the local Border Patrol spokesman, said the agency has issued releases like this in the past, specifying the status of the arrested such as B1 or B2 visas.
