"All the kids threw jokes around like that, saying he was going to be the one to shoot up the school, but it turns out, everyone predicted it", said another student. Twelve were killed inside the building and two died outside, he said.

The Broward County Sheriff confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the shooter is in custody.
Adding to the chaos, one parent said the school was supposed to have an active shooter drill Wednesday. Her daughter called her to say she was safe but the student also told her mother she heard the cries of a person who was shot.
