PA House Candidate to Join 'Cavuto Live' Ahead of Appearance With Trump

Biden was in Pennsylvania campaigning for Democrat Conor Lamb, a candidate for Congress in next week's special election in Pennsylvania's 18th District. It should have been a cakewalk in a House district that President Trump won by 20 percentage points in 2016.

Republicans acknowledge that the tax-cut message has been slow to take hold in this largely working-class district, as the legislation was approved when the special election campaign was already underway. "Election day is going to be like Dunkirk - everybody in their vehicle is going to go out and make sure everybody gets there". "He's not afraid to say the word 'union, '" Biden said. It's about who the hell we are and what we've done.

At a union carpenters' apprenticeship shop, Biden tied his earliest days in politics to local union support.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Pennsylvania congressional candidate Conor Lamb reminds him of late his son while campaigning for the Democrat on Tuesday.

"We live in a time where everybody's so divided that I am happy to stand here today with a leader that everybody likes", Lamb said of Biden. Lamb is expected to run in the 17th district, which under the new map is more favorable for Democrats.

But Bliss also cautioned against reading too much into the special election results. He's sought-after by Democrats in red states, with fundraising events coming up this month in Montana and South Dakota, where Democratic senators face tough re-election battles.

There's evidence to support Biden's assertion that Lamb can win.

The candidates are vying for a House position left vacant with the resignation of former Rep. Tim Murphy, who resigned in October.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC supporting House GOP leaders, spent roughly $5.5 million combined on advertising, according to a Democratic estimate of week-by-week advertising. That's a massive price tag for a race Democratic groups are largely ignoring. Trump has already visited the district once during the special election and plans another trip Saturday. It's not fair, and it's not right.

Vith said she doesn't mind holding different views from Lamb as long as he works to represent the views of his constituents. "It's the first volley in what he's doing. You put out the line and maybe there'll be a little bit of give and take on it, but at the end, you come out with a good deal for America", he said.

Biden, in his speech, described Social Security, education funding, Medicare and Medicaid as programs that bolster people's chances of success, relating stories about his father's inability to get a loan to help pay for a private college education and his worries about what would happen to his family if he were to have a heart attack.
