Like their indoor counterparts, these Hue products are a tad on the pricey side but offer a range of features not available on traditional lighting products. The lights come in white as well as white and color ambiance.
The company on Monday introduced a new line of Hue outdoor lighting products, including wall-mounted luminaries, spot lighting, and pillar posts. Just as with indoor Philips Hue lights, you can control your outdoor lighting in any way you wish, with the Philips Hue app or with your voice to create the ideal ambiance in any outside space.
The luminaires attach to the side of your house, usually mounted near a door, and are meant to act as a replacement for the traditional motion-activated welcome/security light. Last but not the least, Calla is the bollard light which can be used to light up a driveway or path.
Like other Hue bulbs, you can set up lighting routines and schedules, control them remotely, and they support Apple's HomeKit platform.
All Philips Hue outdoor products are designed for outdoor use and easy to install. The products have a color temperature range of 2200-6500 Kelvin and feature 16 million colors. Products in this range are named Lucca, Tuar, Turaco and Ludere (United States only) and retail prices will start from Dollars 49.99 /EUR 69.99. The Lily starter pack includes three bulbs for $279.99, and the Calla starter pack is priced at $129.99.
Finally, Calla is a bollard light, created to provide path or driveway lighting. The company has now confirmed that the Philips Hue outdoor lights will be available for purchase this July. Philips will offer luminaries in a variety of styles with prices starting at $29.99.
