Vivo V9 Youth launched in India: Specs, price and more

It is already available at major offline smartphone retail stores across the country and will be available for sale online on Vivo's E-store, Flipkart.com, Amazon.in and Paytmmall.com from April 24. The phone will be available in two colour variants- Pearl Black and Champagne Gold.

On the front, the Vivo V9 Youth sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is built around an aluminium body with a glass front and a notch at the top of the display.

This smartphone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor and the battery is a 3260mAh. The smartphone even supports microSD card up to 256GB. In order to bring down the price further, the company has used a 16MP+2MP dual primary camera as opposed to the 16MP+5MP on the Vivo V9. As the name suggests this phone is targetting young generations and offers some similar features in Vivo V9 original variant. These include AR stickers, Bokeh mode for DSLR-like effect, and an AI Face Beauty for great looking portraits.

In the camera department, the Vivo V9 Youth sports a 16MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and a single 16MP front camera. For selfies, the Vivo V9 Youth features a 16-megapixel sensor with a soft LED flash to help users capture selfies in low-light as well. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back panel.

Network: 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.

Design of the V9 Youth is identical to its elder sibling. However, just like the Vivo V9, the V9 Youth lacks support for fast charging.

The dual SIM smartphone measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89 mm and weighs 150 grams.

The battery capacity of the device is 3,260mAh and it is shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo under Funtouch OS 4.0 out of the box. It comes with the updated Game Mode feature, which the company debuted with the V9.

This phone also boasts of "Game Mode" for preventing distractions such as messages, calls and alerts when your are playing games on it. The feature also lets you accept phone calls only from designated contacts. Besides, the smartphone also comes with a special Gaming Keyboard which makes in-game chatting easier by not taking up the whole screen space.
