Xiaomi will manufacture smartphones for Android One

Xiaomi is all set to launch its much-anticipated smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6X on its home turf China.

We've actually gotten handsy with Xiaomi's Mi A1, which is Xiaomi's first Android One device. It is also the successor to Mi 5X which in markets like India is sold as the Mi A1 with pure Android on it. It is expected that Mi 6X is going to be the Chinese version of the Mi A2 smartphone. The 4GB with 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1599, while 6GB with 64GB variant will be available at CNY 1799 and lastly 6GB with 128GB storage variant is valued at CNY 1999.

Mi 6X will have a 5.99-inches display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution (1080p). Under the hood, we see that the Redmi Note 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC along with the Adreno 506 GPU.

On the imaging side of things, it will have a 12MP+20MP dual rear facing camera, with both the sensors - Sony IMX486 and Sony IMX376 - featuring ƒ/1.8 aperture and phase-detection autofocus. The selfie snapper is the same as the secondary camera - 20 MP cam with Sony IMX376 sensor.

The company is holding an event today at the Wuhan University in China to launch the Mi 6X, and there's a live video stream of the launch event which you can view here.

What's more, the smartphone will come with a USB Type-C port and will support Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging standard. The phone has a 5 MP selfie-camera with features such Beautify 4.0, Selfie-Light, and face recognition, among others. The smartphone will be available in five colour options including Red, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue and Black. Its dual-tone LED flash is placed between dual lenses. The metal-bodied Xiaomi Mi 6X that has a curved rear panel. The second camera sensor comes with a telephoto lens which enables 2X lossless optical zoom and DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos. The Mi 6X may or may not be the Mi A2, but, many would be banking on it. There are two 64 GB Mi 6X model with 4 GB of RAM and 6 GB of RAM. By charging it for 30 minutes only, the phone can gain 50 percent power. As mentioned above, it will come with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage options.
