After yesterday's rumors stating Pokemon for Nintendo Switch will mark the series' return to the Kanto region in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, it appears as though Nintendo has registered the domain names for these titles. The Let's Go in the title may refer to the connectivity with the Pokemon Go mobile app. Now, the company CSC Corporate Domains registered the websites pokemonletsgopikachu.com and pokemonletsgoeevee.com on May 15th. Just the inclusion of the word "Go" in those potential titles hints strongly at a link to Pokemon GO.
Rogers followed up on this claim with a longer blog post, where she stated that the Pokemon game (s) for Switch will be announced before the end of May, and that the branding of the titles "might raise a few eyebrows".
Apparently, there will be two version of the upcoming role-playing game: Pokemon Let's Go! This all leads to a much bigger question: What lessons should Game Freak and Nintendo learn from Pokemon Go's success? Now we're getting more information on what this game will be like, thanks to more leaked info from industry insiders. Still, the Nintendo Switch offers a unique facet that other consoles don't, which is that it, too, can be played on the go (pun sort of intended) and thus be taken to the same places a phone or tablet could - and it even has a touchscreen. At this time, it's not clear whether that will be the primary way you catch Pokemon or just an option. We know that Nintendo has some presentations planned for E3 2018, but the announcement could actually arrive sooner.
When Pokemon rumors are flying around, the whole internet gets involved. Until then we can only wait and see what Nintendo has in the works for us.
