Neymar 'scared' ahead of World Cup return

Madrid qualified for a third consecutive Champions League final earlier this month after coming through knockout ties against Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Lionel Messi has conceded it "would be terrible" if former Barcelona teammate Neymar joined Real Madrid this summer, as the five-time Ballon d'Or victor voiced his opinion on the furious speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future.

The jersey of newly-signed Neymar wore on his debut for Paris Saint-Germain has been sold for nearly €250,000 at a charity auction.

If the transfer transpires, it will be a hard pill to swallow for Catalan fans and even Lionel Messi is no exception.

"It would be bad, because of all that Ney means to Barcelona", Messi told Argentina's TyC Sports."If he ends up at Real Madrid it would be a major blow to us".

And the Argentine admitted seeing his former team-mate at Madrid would be a huge blow. He holds the notion that he has nothing to prove by being successful at another club. Star player Neymar has been included in the team.

Rivaldo is still reeling from their failure to win the competition on home soil back in 2014, but believes Brazil are heading to Russian Federation as the front-runners and that Neymar can make a name for himself by delivering the trophy for his country. Neymar's returning form might be a World cup winning factor for the Brazilian team.

The superstar himself recently stated that he is getting "tired" of the constant transfer rumours around his future, before adding that he is focusing only on the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.

"I have talked to him, he already knows [my thoughts]".

Talk is rife that Neymar is ready to move to Real, having been underwhelmed by the standard of football in Ligue 1.

They reached the final of the same tournament in 2015 and 2016 but lost both times and Messi said the successive failures weighed heavily."It's a weight that we carry and we want to overcome it", he said.
