Chelsea holding talks with Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic

It looked certain for a significant period of time that the Blues had found Maurizio Sarri as the ideal successor to take over in the summer.

Chelsea have reportedly been holding talks with Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic over the prospect of replacing Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed Avram Grant is in the running as the next Chelsea manager after guiding them to the Champions League final in 2008.

Mikel helped Chelsea to win the Premier League with Conte before moving to Tianjin.

According to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have already met with Jokanovic following his exploits with Fulham last term. The Brazilian racked up 12 goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 last season having played 38 matches in all competitions.

Enrique had been touted as a target for Arsenal this summer before the Gunners appointed Unai Emery last month.

The 31-year-old midfielder also added that Chelsea is a club that is built over a number of star players coming together and Conte disrupted that growth when he wanted to change his tactics at Stamford Bridge, "Chelsea was nowhere near what it is 10, 15 years ago".

Blanc's ability to take over from the Conte - who is widely expected to depart Stamford Bridge in the coming days - straight away is seen as a massive advantage by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy, although they are also expected to sound out the availability of his former global team-mate Zinedine Zidane, who quit his role as Real Madrid boss yesterday.
