Trump Starts Endorsing Candidates Shortly Before Polls Close

As of 4 p.m., about 430 active registered voters in Charlottesville had taken part in the primary election.

Unlike the General Election in November, where the victor represents their district in the Virginia General Assembly or U.S. Congress, the victor of Tuesday's primary election only becomes their party's representative in the upcoming general election.

"Mark Sanford has been very unhelpful to me in my campaign to MAGA", the president tweeted, using the initials for his campaign slogan "Make America Great Again". He is MIA and nothing but trouble.

He also slammed Sanford as being 'better off in Argentina'.

The president then threw his support behind Arrington: "I fully endorse Katie Arrington for Congress in SC, a state I love".

'She is tough on crime and will continue our fight to lower taxes.

Nevada's Senate primary became much less interesting when businessman Danny Tarkanian was persuaded by Trump to end his challenge to Republican incumbent Sen.

In District One, which includes Carolina County, Democrats Edwin Santana, John Suddarth and Vangie Williams are running for the nomination to face Republican incumbent Rob Wittman.

Voters will be heading to the polls to select nominees for House of Representatives and other local races across the state. VOTE Katie!,' he wrote.

At least the Laxalt tweet came out no later than halfway through Nevada's election day.

Republican Rep. Barbara Comstock represents Virginia's 10th Congressional District, which runs from McLean to Winchester. He will not appear on Tuesday's primary ballot since he is the only Republican candidate running for the position. Since Mr. Trump has been in office, Sanford has been a vocal critic.

Democrats will also be watching the outcomes of Virginia's 2nd District (GOP Rep. Scott Taylor), 7th District (GOP Rep. Dave Brat) and 5th District (retiring GOP Rep. Tom Garrett), where they hope to be competitive in the fall.

Democrats are also waging closely watched contests in Hampton Roads and central Virginia.

Democrats Hosea Cleveland and Mary Geren are competing for the Democratic nomination for the seat. Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) is nearly certain to win the Republican primary to face Sen.

Paul Pelletier, another Democratic candidate in the race who spent 27 years as a prosecutor, has taken a similar position, telling his hometown paper in MA that "there's enough evidence for the House to investigate". Jackson ran for Virginian's lieutenant governor in 2013 and won the Republican primary before losing in the general election to Democrat Ralph Northam.

Additionally, Republican voters across Virginia must decide which candidate will face Democratic incumbent Sen.

Tuesday's elections in ME are notable not so much because of who's running but because of how the election itself will unfold.

"It's easier to get the truth out of the White House than to get lunch money out of Mark Sanford, so I'd say that any race in which a challenger convinces him to spend real money is a serious one", Rob Godfrey, a former top adviser to ex-South Carolina GOP Gov. Nikki Haley, told Politico.
