You Can Do It! Skyscraper-Climbing US Raccoon Transfixes Twitter

A raccoon stranded on the ledge of a building in the U.S. city of St Paul, Minnesota, captivated onlookers and generated interest on social media after it started scaling an office building.

According to Minnesota Public Radio, the raccoon was first spotted on a small ledge of a nearby building, where it huddled all day and night.

The raccoon then steadily ascended UBS Tower, taking the time to groom itself and lay down along the way.

The building emblazoned with the logo of the UBS bank is next door to the MPR offices in St Paul, Minnesota, leaving the public broadcaster with a clear view of the ascending mammal, NPR reported.

"You can do it, Rocket!" they say at one point, a reference many were using to the character of Rocket Raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

The raccoon has developed quite the following on Twitter, and people are understandably pretty anxious for it. James Gunn, director of iconic raccoon film Guardians of the Galaxy, has even promised to donate $1000 to the non political charity of choice for anyone who can save Skyscraper Raccoon. CBS Minnesota reports a live trap has been set on the roof, with cat food to lure the raccoon.

"We have seen him pace back and forth and sniff, but he hasn't moved", said attorney Sheila Donnelly-Coyne.

Finally, the good news - we hope - came at 2:45 a.m.: The little raccoon that could had done it.

Whatever fate awaits the wild creature, it's now achieved whatever level of fame that an animal hits when it gets multiple Twitter accounts.
