Rose McGowan Was Just Indicted on Cocaine Charges - She’s Blaming Harvey Weinstein

McGowan's lawyer, Jim Hundley, was on vacation and could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

And although she fought to have the case thrown out, on Monday, she was indicted by a grand jury and has been hit with one felony count of cocaine possession.

The detectives who investigated the drug charges against McGowan have categorically rejected her ludicrous claim that Mr. Weinstein planted the drugs in her wallet.

'These charges would have never been brought if it weren't for her activism as a voice for women everywhere.

The charges stem from an incident on January 20, 2017, when McGowan's wallet and two bags were allegedly found by a cleaning crew on a United airliner at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., according to the New York Daily News. The crew who cleaned the United Airlines plane following her flight found her wallet.

In a court filing last week, attorneys for McGowan argued that the five hours between the plane landing and the wallet being found make it impossible to prove the cocaine was hers.

After McGowan's wallet went missing but before the charges against her were made public, someone sent McGowan a direct message on Instagram that said: "You left your wallet on your Saturday flight with your 2 bags of coke", the Associated Press reported. The police said two bags of cocaine were in the wallet.

Later that year an arrest warrant for McGowan surfaced, shortly after she publicly accused Weinstein of raping her.

McGowan was among the first to accuse Weinstein of sexual assault.
