'World's Ugliest Dog' Zsa Zsa from Minnesota passes away

Zsa Zsa, the English bulldog from Minnesota that captured hearts as the cutest World's Ugliest Dog, has died. He says she appeared fine the day before, so it was a shock.

Zsa Zsa, the World's Ugliest Dog, has died just a month after winning the title.

"Looks are deceiving, some thought she looked scary, but she was the most gentle dog", said Larson. She was purchased by a rescue group after spending the first five years of her life in a Missouri puppy mill.

"Her mother saw her attractive picture on pet finder and HAD TO HAVE HER!"

With her crooked teeth, underbite and tongue hanging out of her mouth, Zsa Zsa won over the competition's judges and collected a $1,500 prize as the victor of the 30th annual contest.

"She is just so ugly, she's attractive", Brainard told The New York Times last month. Much like when she won the competition, the family is surprised by the news of her death. "We were all saying our goodbyes".

Brainard, who won $1,500 for Zsa Zsa's victory, said she found the dog - named after the late actress Zsa Zsa Gabor - on a pet-finding site, according to the contest bio.

Brainard named the sweet, lovable pup after the Hollywood legend Zsa Zsa Gabor, because the pretty pooch enjoyed lounging on the couch "like a attractive model". Zsa Zsa bested a terrier with dreadlocks named Scamp to take home the win.
