Gerrard has already secured the signing of Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Ovie Ejaria and Jon Flanagan.
In a bid to add strength to his team next season, Glasgow Rangers' Manager, Steven Gerrard remains hopeful a deal to sign Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq can be completed soonest, AOIFootball.com reports.
He joins the Gers from French top-flight Angers on a season-long loan, subject to global clearance.
Sadiq, 21, has struggled to pin down a regular shirt since linking up with AS Roma from Serie B side Spezia in 2015.
The 22-year-old, who is under contract with the French side until June 2021, will be coached by the new Rangers' coach, Steven Gerrard. I got a phone call from my agent and he told me about Rangers and I said let's see what happens.
"At the moment, he (Sadiq Umar) is still a Roma player but it has been well documented that I am a fan, but it's just a case of watch this space", Gerrard told reporters on Saturday evening.
"He can help me to develop".
Mali global Coulibaly, who has been capped 10 times, admits the lure of playing for Gerrard was too good to turn down.
"I spoke to him when I was in Mali and he asked me if I wanted to join his team, and I said yes, although I was anxious it wasn't actually Gerrard (on the phone)!"
He must now turn his attention to Thursday's Europa League qualifying match against Macedonian team FK Shkupi.
