Apple Updates MacBook Pro with New Intel Chips, Redesigned Keyboards

Outdated processors had been one of the most significant complaints about the MacBook Pro range, with several rumors throughout the past year that the Cupertino firm had been waiting for Intel's newest silicon to be ready.

As we suspected, Apple has announced an update of its two priciest MacBook Pros: the 13-inch and 15-inch laptops with Touch Bars.

The new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 models are available for purchase starting today from Apple's online store with prices starting at $2,399 CAD and $3,199 CAD, respectively. On top of those weighty responsibilities, the T2 lets the new MacBook Pros handle "Hey Siri" invocations for the first time. Apple sold 19.3 million Macs in 2017, or close to the amount the iPhone maker sold in each of the three prior years.

Apple held 6.9 per cent of the PC market in the first quarter of 2018, according to Gartner, trailing 21 per cent for HP Inc., 20 per cent for Lenovo, and 16 per cent for Dell.

The Apple Watch could soon receive on of its biggest design changes since launch, with a report indicating both models of the Series 4 smartwatch will come with larger displays.

Apple MacBook Pro lineup has been updated by the company with a new Intel 8th generation processor and up to 32GB of RAM on board. See, since Apple is no longer selling the 2015 MacBook Pro, this in turn means that it will see severe price drops on places like eBay, B&H, Amazon and others. Tablets should indeed have reduced bezels and overall sizes if the home button has been banished (and Face ID implemented), as rumoured.

Apple's shares rose 1.2 per cent to $190.16 in NY, valuing the company at US$934.3 billion. Similar to 15-inch MacBook Pro model, the laptop features True Tone display technology and Apple T2 chip.

Apple claims this model will offer 70 per cent faster performance than its predecessor, making it ideal for "manipulating large data sets, performing complex simulations, creating multi-track audio projects or doing advanced image processing or film editing".

As usual with Apple, the company continued to stay quiet on what kinds of surprises they have for release this fall.

He still believes Apple will release three new versions, one being an updated version of the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen, a super-size iPhone X with a 6.5-inch display, as well as a 6.1-inch iPhone that has an LCD screen, that will include FaceID and an edge-to-edge screen.
